Unity License Status
Live organization checks, account email evidence, and a machine-level Unity CLI probe. Verified July 24, 2026 at 7:13 PM PDT.

His seat was removed July 6 and assigned to Rachel July 7. The best non-disruptive test path is one of ForgeFX’s two floating Industry seats through Cedar-LicenseServer, but this Mac is not configured to reach that server yet.
No active license on this Mac
unity auth status succeeds as Adam. unity license status reports signed in but no active license. Floating-server status reports no configured server.
Active through Mar 5, 2027
All 10 are allocated

Complete Current Picture
| License / service | Quantity | Availability | Term | What it means for testing |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Unity Industry — named user | 10 | 0 available | Mar 5, 2026 – Mar 5, 2027 | Works for the new CLI when assigned to Adam and activated by sign-in. Getting one now requires reclaiming a seat from a current user. |
| Unity Industry — floating | 2 concurrent | Pool exists; live free count not visible | Mar 17, 2025 – Mar 17/18, 2027 | Best fit for experimentation. A configured client borrows a seat while the Editor runs and releases it when the Editor closes. |
| Unity Build Server Free | 2 | Assigned to Cedar-LicenseServer | Portal displays Mar 6, 2125 | For build-server workloads, not a substitute for Adam’s interactive Editor/CLI license. |
| Unity Gaming Services | Pay as you go | Active | Since Jun 7, 2022 | Cloud services; does not license the Editor. |
| Cloud Content Delivery | Pay as you go | Active | Since Aug 24, 2020 | Delivery service; does not license the Editor. |
| Unity DevOps | Pay as you go | Active | Since Jul 14, 2023 | DevOps service; does not license the Editor. |
Use a Floating Industry Seat — Do Not Reclaim a Named Seat First
Configure this Mac as a client of Cedar-LicenseServer, verify the server is reachable, then run unity license server status and an actual Editor/CLI command. This avoids disrupting Rachel or another named-seat holder. If Cedar is unreachable from this Mac, the fallback is a temporary named-seat reassignment approved by the team.
What Will and Will Not Work
Floating Industry
Preferred. Designed for concurrent use. Requires the Cedar client configuration and network reachability. Current Mac has neither configured.
Named Industry
Works, but disruptive. No open seat exists. Adam’s former seat is now Rachel’s; another assignment change would be required.
Unity Personal
Not appropriate. Unity’s current public pricing limits Personal to gaming/entertainment and makes Industry the required plan for qualifying non-game companies.

Live Evidence

Evidence and Confidence
- High: Live Unity organization pages checked July 24, 2026 under the ForgeFX organization.
- High: Unity account emails: River removed Adam’s Industry seat July 6; Rachel received the reassigned seat July 7.
- High: Local Unity CLI 1.0.0-beta.3: Adam authenticated; no active license; no floating server configured.
- High: Unity’s official Licensing overview defines named-user and floating behavior.
- Medium: The portal proves two floating seats are assigned to Cedar-LicenseServer, but does not expose a current live lease count in the organization page. Actual availability must be checked from a configured client/server.
