Kubota WorkSmart · Autosteer training prototype

What ForgeFX Plans to Build

A browser-delivered, real-time 3D prototype that lets Kubota demonstrate and evaluate a focused WorkSmart Autosteer training experience before committing to a broader product.

Recommended prototype scope

One focused system, two ways to experience it

The build combines a showroom-friendly open field with a short guided lesson. Both use the same tractor, field, controls, equipment setup, and simulation state.

01 · MACHINE

M7 tractor + 10-ft mower

A representative M7-style tractor and rotary mower establish the core equipment context. A smaller attachment demonstrates equipment switching and changed pass width.

02 · ENVIRONMENT

Prepared field

A bounded field with headlands, crop rows, realistic terrain variation, visible obstacles, and destinations that encourage manual driving and re-engagement.

03 · GUIDANCE

Straight AB first

Straight AB is the core committed scenario. Projected paths respond to the selected attachment and make alignment and steering assistance visible in the field.

04 · INTERFACE

WorkSmart-style tablet

An expandable field overlay presents the machine, guidance status, equipment choice, pass spacing, speed, and engage/override controls in context.

05 · SHOWROOM

Open exploration

Users can drive freely, visit landmarks, swap attachments, use optional hints, and hand the running session to another person without a forced reset.

06 · TRAINING

Guided core procedure

A short lesson teaches align, engage, complete a pass, turn, avoid an obstacle, take manual control, realign, and re-engage.

Control + equipment fidelity

What must feel believable

The prototype is not a generic driving game. Its value depends on recognizable field behavior and credible WorkSmart interaction.

  • Field-speed controls from 3–7 mph, with 5 mph as the normal operating reference.
  • Realistic approach angles, engage readiness, manual steering override, and recovery.
  • Attachment selection, centered offset, pass width, overlap, and guidance-spacing effects.
  • Driver-seat perspective and field visibility that communicate the machine’s movement.
  • Terminology, screen structure, warnings, and control behavior reviewed against the real WorkSmart application.

Guidance scope

Straight AB is the foundation

The initial experience stays narrow enough to finish well. The statement of work will also include pivot and border guidance as prototype targets so Kubota can confirm whether both fit the mini-project schedule and priorities.

Scope rule

Do not treat every WorkSmart feature as part of this prototype. Additional operations, attachment libraries, contour guidance, assessments, reporting, account systems, machine integrations, and production deployment belong in a later roadmap unless the final statement of work explicitly adds them.

Delivery commitment

How ForgeFX will run the mini-project

Confirm this scope

Kubota reviews the planned experience and identifies missing or unnecessary items.

Issue the detailed SOW

ForgeFX converts the confirmed scope into the formal statement of work, schedule, and review plan.

Build + review

ForgeFX develops the prototype and holds one or two focused Kubota reviews to collect feedback and course-correct.

Deliver the project package

ForgeFX provides the final prototype, runtime files, source code, and supporting documentation included in the approved SOW.

Prototype status

A working concept, not the finished product

The current demo exists to make the scope visible and collect better decisions. It runs on simulated data, is not connected to a machine or the WorkSmart app, and is not production-ready training content. Pricing and schedule will follow scope confirmation in the formal SOW.
