REVISION 2 / GEOMETRY + SHADING REPAIR

Dozer Engine · Clean 200k

200,000 triangles · Centered · Reset transforms · Rebuilt normals

Drag to orbit · Scroll/pinch to zoom · Right-drag to pan. Neutral shading exposes the actual surface normals; no normal-map disguise. This viewer loads a GLB exported from the re-imported delivery FBX.

What Changed

  • Rebuilt directly from the original CAD FBX in Blender—not the first Tripo result.
  • Welded coincident vertices; removed collapsed faces; separated edges shared by more than two faces.
  • Recomputed face orientation, marked hard edges at 35°, and generated area-and-angle-weighted normals.
  • Centered the geometry, removed inherited transforms, and reset object scale to 1.

What To Check In Max

Import into a fresh scene, with automatic unit conversion and imported normals/smoothing enabled. Orbit and zoom before changing viewport clipping.

Scale assumption: CAD numerical units were treated as millimetres. This copy is approximately 1.685 × 1.047 × 1.068 metres. Check against a known engine dimension; original placement is intentionally not preserved.

The likely precision triggers have been addressed, but the original Max flicker has not been reproduced or confirmed fixed in Max.

Original vs. Clean Revision

Matching cameras and neutral lighting. Original reference centered and scaled for comparison; source file unchanged. Fine details still simplify at this budget.

Export Checks

FBX re-import and GLB index counts both confirm 200,000 triangles. Re-imported FBX has custom normals, identity scale, zero translation, no zero-area faces at the audit tolerance, and no edges shared by more than two faces. The CAD assembly still has open surface boundaries; this is not a watertight solid rebuild.

Sampled bidirectional shape error before the final degenerate-face cleanup: 95% within 0.353 mm, maximum sampled deviation 28.7 mm under the stated scale assumption. Small features can change more than the main surfaces.
